Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 21, 2026 | Last Updated: September 6, 2026
Bankroll Board ("we," "our," or "the App") is a personal finance tool that helps sports bettors track their
deposits, withdrawals, and net profit/loss across sportsbook and casino platforms. Your privacy is important
to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information (Stored Remotely)
When you create an account, we collect and store the following information on our secure servers for marketing
and account management purposes:
| Data |
Purpose |
| Full Name |
Personalization, communications |
| Email Address |
Account identification, marketing communications |
| Date of Birth |
Age verification, birthday promotions |
| Phone Number |
Account recovery, SMS notifications (optional) |
1.2 Preferences (Stored Locally on Your Device)
The following preference settings are stored locally on your device:
- Currency preference
- Hide Balance setting
- Private Mode setting
- Dark mode and notification preferences
Your app preferences stay on your device.
Account data and betting-related transactions are stored on our secure servers to provide synced dashboards and analytics.
1.3 Financial Data via Plaid
We use Plaid Inc. to connect to your bank account and retrieve transaction history. Here is how
we handle this data:
- What we access: Transaction history from your linked bank account(s) via Plaid's
Transactions API.
- What we keep: Only transactions related to sportsbook and casino platforms (identified by
merchant name). These are stored securely on our servers (Convex) to power your dashboard and analytics across sessions/devices.
- What we discard: All non-betting transactions (groceries, rent, subscriptions, etc.) are
immediately discarded and never stored.
- What we never access: We do not access your bank account numbers, routing numbers,
balances, or login credentials. Plaid handles all bank authentication directly.
By using Plaid, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
1.4 Optional Community Information
Community sharing is off by default. On first entry we create a non-identifying username that you may change.
If you explicitly opt in to the public Community, other signed-in users can see your username, approved profile
picture or initials, exact rolling and all-time casino cash-flow results, all-time Bankroll Board balance,
verified Journey progress, and distinction. Private-community sharing requires separate consent for each group.
Community profiles are stored separately from legal names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, bank
connections, and raw transactions. Those private fields are never returned by Community queries. Uploaded
profile pictures remain private to their owner until approved by a moderator.
If you participate, we also store the comments and community names you submit, the Community Guidelines version
and acceptance time, blocks you create, reports you submit or receive, and moderation records. We use this
information to publish the features you choose, filter and investigate misuse, enforce the Guidelines, respond
to safety requests, and prevent repeat abuse.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Account Information: To identify your account, send relevant communications, and provide
customer support.
- Betting Transactions: To display your profit/loss, charts, platform breakdowns, and
analytics within the App.
- Marketing: We may use your name and email to send promotional offers, product updates, and
educational content. You can opt out at any time.
- Optional Community: When you consent, we publish the social profile and verified aggregate
metrics described above. Rankings use settled imported casino/sportsbook transactions; manual and pending
transactions do not affect them.
3. How We Protect Your Data
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS
1.2 or higher encryption.
- Encryption at Rest: All data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest.
- Plaid Security: Bank credentials are never shared with us. Plaid uses bank-level security
(AES-256 encryption) to protect your financial data.
- Minimal Data Storage: We follow the principle of data minimization — we only store the data
we need to provide our service.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own
marketing purposes. We share data only with:
- Plaid Inc. — To facilitate bank account connections and transaction retrieval.
- Convex (Backend Provider) — Our database and server infrastructure provider, which
processes and stores data on our behalf.
- Apple / RevenueCat — To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. We do not receive or
store your payment card information.
When you voluntarily enable Community sharing, the Community fields listed in Section 1.4 are shared with the
audience you selected. You can disable public sharing or group sharing at any time; doing so immediately removes
your profile and results from that ranking audience and hides prior public comments.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View all stored profile information within the App (Settings → Profile &
Privacy).
- Delete your data: Delete your account and associated data at any time via the "Delete
Account & Data" button in the App.
- Disconnect your bank: Remove connected bank accounts at any time via Settings → Connected
Banks.
- Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
- Control Community sharing: Disable public or private-group sharing independently, leave a
group, block another user, delete your comments, or report content from inside Community.
- Data portability: Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and betting transaction data for as long as your account is active. When you
delete your profile data through the App:
- Your account information is permanently removed from our servers.
- Your local preferences are cleared from your device.
- Connected bank links are disconnected.
- Community profiles, ranking snapshots, memberships, invitations, comments, blocks, reports, and stored
profile pictures are deleted. If you own a non-empty private community, ownership transfers to its oldest
remaining member; empty communities are deleted.
7. Children's Privacy
Bankroll Board is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 21 (or the legal sports betting age in your
jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we learn that we have collected
information from a minor, we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or
via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
